NATO ORDERS FOR FLIGHT TO FREEDOM:

The Soviet bases of the Red Banner Fleet have been either destroyed or rendered
unusable by the constant pressure of NATO aircraft and missile attacks.

Intel reports that the bulk of the large platforms of the Red Banner Fleet have
sortied as one unit and are preparing to fight their way through to the South
Atlantic where they hope to gain a reasonably safe passage around Cape Horn
thence to their bases in Vietnam and possibly Vladivostok.

Due to a daring raid by USAF F-111F's and RAF Tornado GR.1's the Red Banner
Fleet has been deprived of all air cover, both land based and carrier based.
Their sole protection is their SAMs and AAA.

You orders are very simple. No major combatant is to be allowed to reach the
South Atlantic, represented here by the SW corner of the map.

You have available one reserve Intruder squadron recently arrived in Iceland
from CONUS, part of the normal VP assets and the remnants of a USAFR Corsair
Squadron. These are the only air assets available since the bulk of your forces
have been assigned to the Nordland campaign.

There are two Wolfpacks available, one RN and one USN.

There is a SAG available which was the escort for a large troop convoy to
England and the Wisconsin's SAG is in transit to Liverpool. If they can be
spared off their shore bombardment duties in the Baltic, the Iowa and two
Belknap cruisers may be available to help in the hunt.

Good Luck!
